“When I entered Teach for India, I was entering the woods. There was no clear path of where I was going or what I would see on the other side, if at all I got there.
I inflated my ego with lofty stories of how I was going to teach under-privileged children in low income schools for two years. I placated my inner self as a social worker. I was trapped in ivory tower. Three weeks in, much has changed. What were words, thoughts and feelings had been converted into actions. One of the most difficult progressions thus far in my social journey. Barriers have been broken down, mindsets have been changed and assumptions have been made irrelevant.
Before I transform the nation, I must transform myself, continuously for the better. I am now on that journey.”
